Treatment That Fits Your Life
At Glass Orthodontics, we want our teen patients to be excited about starting their journey towards straighter teeth, and Invisalign Teen helps us do that. Invisalign doesn't use brackets, wires and bands like traditional braces.
Instead, the Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually move teeth where they need to go. This gives you a straighter smile and improves your bite alignment. This makes your teeth more comfortable and easier to care for. Choosing Invisalign Teen ensures that your smile will look and feel great!
How is Invisalign Teen Different than Invisalign?
Both systems work the same way and share the same underlying technology. But, Invisalign Teen was developed by leading orthodontists with the unique needs of teen patients in mind. This expert input inspired unique changes to the Invisalign Teen system. Including:
Invisalign only works when you use it correctly. In fact, consistent use is the single biggest factor in successful treatment. To keep the orthodontic process on track and achieve the best results, your teen must stick to Dr. Glass recommendations and wear their aligners for 20-22 hours every day.
Invisalign Teen includes a compliance indicator on each aligner to help keep teens accountable.
The indicator fades from blue to clear as it's used. This gives your teen, and your orthodontist a visual estimate of how much your teen is wearing the aligners.
If your teen isn’t holding up their end of the treatment bargain, Dr. Glass will be able to tell in enough time to correct the problem before it delays the treatment process.
This feature makes room for the second molars that grow in young adults. Keeping space open for unerupted teeth makes it possible to treat a wider range of conditions with Invisalign.
Who hasn’t lost or damaged something important before? Teens are no different. Even when you encourage your teen to treat their aligners with care, life happens sometimes.
Fortunately, Invisalign Teen provides up to six replacement aligners at no charge. This means you don't need to worry if an aligner is misplaced or damaged.
What are the benefits of Invisalign Teen?
The most obvious benefit of either Invisalign system is the clear aligners, which allow your teen to straighten their smile in an incredibly discrete way. But it has other unique benefits that make it a great choice for teens:
The brackets and wires used with traditional braces can sometimes come loose or break, causing emergency appointments. They also need regular adjustment appointments as part of the orthodontic process.
Because you receive your aligners in advance, Invisalign Teen means fewer appointments, and each check up will have less “chair time.” This makes the system perfect for teens with busy schedules.
On average, we see Invisalign Teen patients every eight weeks or so.
The food restrictions with braces can be a big learning curve, with anything too crunchy or chewy off the menu until treatment is complete. Invisalign Teen aligners can be removed at mealtimes, so you’ll still be able to eat all your favorite foods.
It's important to have a good oral hygiene routine, especially during orthodontic treatment. We encourage all patients to brush at least twice a day and floss every night to keep teeth and gums free from food debris and bacteria.
This is another plus in the Invisalign column - because you remove your aligner before brushing or flossing, it’s as easy as ever to clean your teeth.
Invisalign is an ideal choice for teens who play sports or a musical instrument. If your teen is more athletically inclined, the aligner can be removed before practice or a big game and replaced with a regular mouthguard.
The musicians among us are also able to remove the aligner before band practice or a concert for uninterrupted music making.
BONUS BENEFIT: Invisalign Teen aligners can be removed for important events like homecoming, prom, senior pictures, or any time you want nothing but your natural smile to shine through.
Similar outcome at a similar cost
You may be concerned about the cost of alternative orthodontic treatments. The good news is that Invisalign Teen costs about the same as traditional braces.
Here at Glass Orthodontics, we’re happy to offer flexible payment plans with 0% interest and automatic bank drafts.
Many dental insurance policies cover orthodontic treatment for patients under 18 so we will check for you. You can click here to see a list of insurance policies we currently accept.
Orthodontists have recently made amazing advances, especially where when it comes to braces. But, even though they’re far more comfortable and more subtle than ever before, your teen may worry about traditional braces affecting their appearance or lifestyle.
Braces are great as a long-term solution for correcting crooked teeth and other oral issues. But, they can sometimes make insecurities worse in the short-term. Because Invisalign Teen aligners are practically invisible, no one even needs to know you’re wearing them!
Invisalign can remove a very real source of stress for teens. They make it much easier for your teen to focus on the things that matter.
Is Invisalign Teen right for you?
The Invisalign Teen system works best to correct mild to moderate cases of the most common orthodontic issues. Cases that are more severe or complex may need more precise tooth control than what a removable aligner can do.
Schedule a complimentary consultation with Glass Orthodontics, and we’ll be able to determine if Invisalign Teen is a good fit for your specific orthodontic needs.
